Not to take away anything from Sakkari but I don't think Osaka played this match to win at all, how does she get broken after being up 40-0 on more than one occasion? Great win for Sakkari but I'm not convinced Osaka played that match with the intention of winning and moving to the next round. It was way too easy!!

Maria Sakkari is wonderful to watch.I am very pleased for her.However Naomi was off today.She did look distracted in that first set,almost melancholy,and then tried to get in but it wasn’t happening.She is still very young.We forget that about her,because she is a vivacious and incredibly charismatic person.She wanted to go home[at least to me it looked that that way].I remember watching Agassi play be distracted like that when he was Naomis’ age.There is a lot of going on in that head.Same for Andre I reckon.The women’s game is full of interesting characters.Maria,like Naomi being one of them. What fascinating individuals the game of tennis gives us.

Currently it seems that she enters the court, thinking that she has already won, a tennis player completely uninterested in game. Disappointing, shameful performance of those who are expected to offer resistance and not act in depressing way.

Sakkari hit some nice lobs over the head of Naomi and some short returns over the net. Naomi has to be ready for very skilled and technically sound players in the future to remain a top player.😎🤔

Neutral corner: Osaka looked demoralised. She did not even run or chase the balls anymore. I really like her but when her attitude turns that way, its so frustrating. Other players like Halep or Sabalenka. They really fight hard and run after the balls. In other words, they give everything and if they lose...no regret. Even if you're not in a good or top condition , you should try to find ways to play and play to win.
