Thanks for this fantastic instructional video. I've been riding 5 years now and have yet to fully lock my steering when doing a U turn. And I often go into large paved areas and practice tightening my figure 8s. Fear perhaps? But it still feels like the wheel is going to jam and the bike will go down.

The reason most beginner cyclists have such a difficult time with U-Turns, Figure-8's, etc. at the MSC is because they're typically on loaner bikes and have not developed any feel for clutch or throttle. My advice to them is do not get discouraged... when you have your own bike simply practice at the mall parking lot (or somewhere else safe) and you'll soon get the hang of it. Then practice on at least a monthly basis to keep your skills sharp.

Excellent. At least once a year, I go to a parking lot and work on u-turns, circles and figure 8's. Fast Eddie AKA Motojitsu got me started on that. I will say that on a vstar 650, there is very limited friction zone, so when you say "light" - it really is just that, very slight movement for smooth control. Thank you for sharing your skills sir and much happy riding to you.

Ive been trying for ages, but cant do it as tight as you can on your bike, I feel like ive already reach the maximum turning radius, which is almost the entire 2 lanes, and that i may be limited by steering range of motion. Many instructors tell me it can be done on any bike, but all of them have only demonstrated on a similar bike to yours.
