Packard Bell Corner Computer: One of 1995's Strangest PCs!

A look back at the bizarre Packard Bell Corner Computer, one of the weirdest computer designs of the 90s. Pentium CPU at 200MHz, 64MB RAM, Windows 95, and floppy disk and CD-ROM drives jutting out of each corner. An infrared remote control mouse thing came with it, too!

This brings back a lot of memories. My first computer was a Packard Bell 75mhz Pentium with 8m of ram and a 14.4 fax modem running Windows 95. Learned to use the computer using the Packard Bell Navigator. Thanks for the great video!!!

18:51 I won't be surprised if "Journeyman Project Turbo" had the actual gameplay area pre-rendered on high-end graphics workstations (like those from Silicon Graphics), so that it could be played on regular home PCs of the time without stressing the GPU out by making the 3D environment a series of 2D images with clickable regions.

At a time when I'm stuck back in lockdown here in the UK this video is pretty awesome for me as my first PC my parents bought me in 1995 :D A mighty AMD K5 75MHz on an Asus mainboard (which didn't take me long to figure out the K5 was actually a K5 100MHz with the mainboard dip switches set for 75MHz) a whopping 1GB Quantum Fireball HDD, 16MB EDO RAM, S3 Virge VGA (I forget what model, might have been a 64), FDD, and a quad speed CD-ROM. For 1995 and an 11 year old that was a beastly PC. To this day I still remember I eventually convinced my parents to buy it some upgrades and toward the end of its life it had a 200MHz Pentium MMX, 64MB EDO RAM, a PCI Soundblaster card and a substantial HDD and CD-ROM upgrades. I even played UT99 GOTYE on it.

We had a Packard Bell like this in 1995. It had a regular case, but the same monitor, keyboard, and mouse. This was a trip down memory lane, especially with the noises and the plastic waves. I used it to play with Paint and maybe an early NFS.
