Since the second stage engine has an extended nozzle to improve it's efficiency in space, I have a question. How is the nozzle protected from overheating and failing as a result? It can't just be merely radiation to space of heat. Perhaps an ablative coating on the interior?

@Brandon Midgley They've successfully reentered first stages. That was the hard part. Flight 17 will carry parachutes and attempt soft landing in the Ocean and booster recovery. Soon after that they'll start catching them mid air. Will probably be a flew flights later to incorporate lessons learnt from Flight 17, at which point the will be the only entity besides SpaceX to posses actual data on booster recovery of orbital missions.

I almost don’t want to look at the comments because I want to be surprised but when it comes to reliable transportation and precision when launching payloads into orbit you guys can’t be beat especially with photon taking the tough parts of designing a satellite 🛰 out of the equation. I am going to watch the whole video anyways because I love this company and the vision you guys are achieving and continue to deliver. I am looking forward to the upcoming recovery attempts which are going to be a game changer for your class of orbital launch vehicles. I also was wondering if you guys have the introduction music you use for these live-streams and if it is copyrighted or free to use? The reason I am inquiring about the music is I am working on a project that displays the different launch providers and their strengths for my personal use (I will not profit nor will any business) and would love to have this music play during the section on Rocket Lab!

There is very little they are allowed to discuss about components of the kick stage. The engine is dependent on technologies developed in cooperation with DARPA and the exact composition of the monopropellant used is classified.
