This video makes no sense. It says jobs aren’t keeping up with population growth and yet in the US unemployment rate was 3.5% in 2019 compared to 6-10% in the 1980’s. Median Individual incomes adjusted for inflation in 2019 was 40% higher than 1980. So, is the video just wrong?

When you think about it, machine are like cells. There are many machines in a factory that do simple tasks that all help to create a single or multiple products. Kinda like in your body. And, we are always creating new and improved machines that are meant to do their tasks better. You could say that were undergoing an age of evolution with machines. At this point, it’s just natural selection in the industry. Machines will most definitely take over most simple jobs, and we’ll be left in the dust doing what we do best; creating and screwing our selves over.

Wouldn’t automation eventually get us to an equilibrium? I’m sure it will most likely end up making people lose their jobs and possibly die, but I’m also quite sure that eventually the population would reduce to a point were people don’t end up without jobs. A bit f up but maybe the best way to preserve mankind.

Hm, imagine though all of the jobs taken over by robots, but with an economic system of UBI. Meaning people won't be necessary to work, while machines will do the work humans would not like Io do. We would be left with more time to spend in research, school and creative work. But then the question comes... Will we be more lazy and stop doing anything?

This video actually outlines some of capitalism's major pitfalls as well as any economic system. It also shows why industrialization warrants critical examination. For the curious mind, it may raise the question: what do we do when there isn't enough meaningful activity to occupy our over grown population? What becomes of creativity and diversity in a mundane world with insufficient outlets, and diminishing demand, for both?

Actually, this might be a frightening future for us. Imagine if machine take over all jobs, and human only stay around all day doing whatever things they want. Of course, if machine has taken over all mean that they are, basically, better than us in all aspect. We can't compete. We can't drive society forward by ourself. Only machine do. In fact, in that scenario, human is a huge dead weight attached to the machine, as we need more things to stay alive yet produce next to nothing. And since machine is all about efficiency, it is not hard to see that they can advance much faster by cutting off the dead weight called human.
