yes, 1mm nozzles exist. I basically only print with a 1mm nozzle anymore, because i hate waiting 24+ hours for something large to print, and i don't print small things

an E3D tool changer is what you need for your printer that much weight on a print head would screw your print quality

You'll want to go to a beefier heater block to do high volume printing. You'll overrun the standard E3D v6 quickly even on a .6 nozzle (You can go up to .4 layer height and 1.2mm line width). An E3D Volcano is the way to go.

Nozzle changes: use one type of nozzle, do not mix and match from different patches. Check that they are all identical lengths, when it comes to the threaded section. Change them when warm. Mixing different type of nozzles can end up with a dreaded blob but so far, using just one type, sourced from the same place has worked fine. Also: it is fairly easy to miss the threads and screw it in wonky, ruining the hot end in the process, use a drill bit and fingers, don't use power tools.

Sorry I'm going off track here, I don't know how to email you so, I was wondering if you have seen those 100ton boxes at the place they call the serapeum, in Egypt? Whats your thought how they were made? The only reason I ask is because they are precision and you are the best when it comes to that and you can make anything. I know you don't work with stone but I would love to hear what you think. They tell everybody that they were made with copper chisels. There is no way! Would love to hear what you think.

Allow me to play Captain Obvious and ask, how can Argon fully replace the air if there is only a single inlet? Seems to me that if you want to get the air out to replace with Argon then there'd need to be some sort of exit hole. Perhaps the Argon simple mixes with the Air thereby decreasing the Air's ability to destroy, or gunk up, the part. Maybe you might need to apply the Argon, along with the part, the night before and allow the Argon to completely absorb or mix with the Air; then the next day heat up the Part... Clearly I am clueless and stating the obvious but am curious to know... Cheers...

1mm nozzle? I use one, but watch out that your hotend can keep up. If it isn't powerful enough to melt plastic at that flowrate, you will get voids and all sorts of strange issues, forcing you to slow the print speed down. At that point, you might as well use a smaller nozzle, as they have better resolution and drip less.

Try putting your part in a stainless foil bag when go to the quench from the oven It won’t get oxidation on it We did that with small batches of parts at GE aircraft engine group I worked in heat treat We also use vacuum furnaces Purged with hydrogen I wouldn’t suggest trying that lol Or you’ll have a real explosion 💥😂😂😂😂😃

That Noga pen attachment is obviously a deburring tool (and takes standard Noga replacement tips). Welding tip: Since you'd only be doing this if you already have argon for TIG, you can buy a Western CGA 580 tee and another flowmeter to use for weldment purging then use fittings of choice to connect green hose (your local welding supply sells it cut to length) to your oven. Make the hose with standard fittings and make it long (hose is cheap). That lets you not only connect easily to your oven, but place your argon cylinder anywhere you like instead of wheeling around on your welder. It's much more convenient to have cylinders chained to the wall or on their own cylinder cart.

Hey Tony, quick note on 3D printer nozzle size: the v6 nozzle will start to hit some material flow limitations around 8mm and give you poor results (both print quality and print time) as you increase nozzle size. So if you really want to print at 1 mm+ nozzle sizes, examine upgrading your hot end (ex, e3's volcano, supervolcano are compatible with the v6 mounting via the heatsink) but you will sacrifice z-height. huge fan, love your videos!
