I don`t know construction of this engine, but how is possible to fire up without belt. In most of these cases the engine will be gone due to beat between valves and pistons, may be here is different situation. Or may be there is a chain about sync the shafts and this belt is only for the additional stuff like water pump, AC ect.

I like how you said that everything OEM, even universal brackets from the local hardware store.:) Do not take it personally just a joke, you doing well man. I waiting for video about you, because as I know your name is Sreten, so may be you are from Serbia or Macedonia. Hey chief. We from Australia/NZ and I'm a 635 csi fan from way back. They used to race them here in the 80s. JPS team black on gold livery, and they were the shizzle. Don't be frightened to vocal some tasteful German expletives while working on these machines. All cars can be a pain most times. English translations always down 4 a laugh lol. Much love from down under. Peace.

HI Sreten, as a fanatic, but amateur mechanic, i follow your videoblogs with great interest, and enjoy working on my classic cars just as much as you do on your babies. I have here an advert for a 'panzer' BMW 12 cylinder, that was owned by the Security Police of Bulgaria. It really is something for you! Very special and can be picked up in Bulgaria (which is not far from your native country i think?) for just € 10.000. Well maintained and you could say: bulletproof... Sorry it's in dutch, but there's always Google translate.

Hi there, greetings from South Africa, love your content. I just would like to know, my car has been sitting for a year without running, do I need to use fogging oil before trying to crank it or should I be fine without?

Thanks for posting about rescuing one of these magnificent V12 super sedans - the king of luxury sedans in the 1980's! My Dad had the first one here in our town in 87: granite grey on grey 88 750iL when I was 8 years old. I think you will really appreciate this car once you have it sorted - the short front overhang and forward front seat placement give the impression of a much smaller car when driving it, and the 296hp V12 is more than adequate for triple digit sprints on der Autobahn! My old man used to dust off L98 Corvettes on the highway regularly with the 750, as well as other more notable sports cars of the day. Sadly, that car is long gone and so is he, but I am contemplating buying one that I know of local to me after watching your video!

    • SwissMarksman

      Dag geleden

My father didn't had the 750 but the 735 manual. I even have a picture from when went to the dealer to buy an E38 with the E32 infront. Sadly I wasn't old enough to drive that car, but I had the opportunitie with the E38. But I remember when my (back then) neighbour got his driving license, he asked my father if he can take that car for a joyride. He was the oldest of the clique back then & we hopped in. Many years later, he became my Driving instructor & whenever I point that story from that particular day out, he get's embarassed (because of all that bullshit he did on that day). I really like the semi-agressive timeless look of that car. Sadly there aren't many around with low mileage & alltough there is one right now, I have other priorities.

I know the "I can edit this out and make it seem like I know what I'm doing" is a joke, but the fact you show it anyway does three things: you can make a joke about the silliness of it and we all laugh about it, you show the good the bad and the ugly about these kinds of projects, and it shows that sometimes (or oftentimes) the simplest possible solution is the solution. Great video!

Be careful with that vacuum cleaner, air molecules zipping at high speed create a shitload of static electricity. Needless to say that a tank full of gasoline vapours with an opening pointed at your face, exploding due to an accidental discharge isn't ideal.
